Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Contestants participating in the Miss Madison County Fair Queen Pageant must be at least 16 years of age by the pageant date (July, pageant year) and not have reached their 22nd birthday by January 1st of the following year.
  2. Contestants must be a single female; never have been married or had a marriage annulled.
  3. Contestant can never have been pregnant and is not the adoptive parent of a child.
  4. Contestants must have been a legal resident of Madison County, Illinois for six months prior to the pageant date or attend a high school or college or work (full-time or part-time) in Madison County.
  5. Contestants must be a U.S. Citizen.
  6. Contestants can never have been convicted of a felony offense.
  7. Was born female and has always been female.
  8. Contestants cannot have held a county fair queen title in Illinois or competed for the title of Miss Illinois County Fair at the state pageant.
  9. Does not use or consume any illegal controlled substances or abuse the use of alcohol or other dangerous sub­stances.
  10. Is of good moral character. Has never performed any act or engaged in any activity or employment that is or could be characterized as immoral or indecent. Attests that any and all online depictions associated with the con­testant’s name or likeness including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, SnapChat, and Instgram pages are consistent with the stan­dards and dignity of the Miss Illinois Fair Queen Pageant and the Miss Madison County Fair Queen Pageant.
  11. Contestants will limit themselves to two holes/piercings in each ear lobe. All other piercings – ear or body – must be removed or covered. All tattoos must be covered.
  12. Contestants are required to have a “Sponsor” (business or family) who accepts responsibility for their $100.00 entry fee.
  13. Contestants must attend all practices and rehearsals unless excused, in advance, by the Director. No excep­tions!
  14. Contestants cannot drink alcoholic beverages, use illegal drugs or smoke during any pageant practices, re­hearsals or other events they may attend as a contestant of the Miss Madison County Fair Queen Pageant (e.g. County Fair Queen Pageants, Photo Shoots, etc.) If any contestant drinks, smokes or uses drugs as outlined, they will immediately be disqualified from the competition.

Contestants agree to:

  • Be personally interviewed, wearing a business suit or daytime dress by a panel of three judges
  • Appear on-stage for judging in a one-piece swimsuit, which has been pre-approved by the director, and taupe heels
  • Appear on-stage for judging in an evening gown of their choice
  • Present a speech up to 60 seconds in length, on the topic of their choice, on-stage for judging
  • Perform a short and easy production number with all contestants and the reigning queen at the beginning of the pageant. This is NOT judged.
  • Contestant agrees to do community service throughout her reign, a list of required events will be furnished.
  • Contestant must attend State Fair Pageant
  • Contestant must attend State Fair
  • Contestant must attend Southern Zone Meeting
